Now we've planted that flag let's move on.
Put simply a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) upgrade is an independently engineered and tested suspension solution that allows users to increase the payload of their vehicle from what the manufacturer originally designated.
With an upgraded GVM you can ensure specific improvements in your vehicle's functioning such as its carrying capacity, your ability to ride and handle the vehicle, as well as its towing stability.
While most 4WD's in Australia are used as large suburban SUV's a large number are modified with a range of aftermarket equipment designed to enhance both on and off-road capability. These modifications come at the cost of additional weight which is not offset by wishing it wasn't there.
If you have added weight to your 4WD or light truck and intend to carry a full load of fuel, luggage and passengers then it's very likely you've already exceeded or come very close to exceeding the approved vehicle GVM.
We haven't even started to speak about a caravan....
Get in touch with us to discuss your requirements.
If you are operating a vehicle beyond its legal load limits you are automatically at risk for litigation and fines. You can be charged for exceeding your GVM which may result in your vehicle being impounded. If you are a business owner or manager, upgrading your GVM also protects you from claims made for breaches in occupational health and safety regulations or employee negligence. Penalties vary from state to state.
Something to note, the ball weight of your trailer or caravan is calculated as part of your vehicle's GVM when attached.
There are a number of important factors that go into determining the availability of a GVM upgrade for your vehicle.
Once we understand these parameters we can then provide our recommendation on the best GVM upgrade package to suit your specific vehicle and requirements.
Once given the go-ahead you can expect we'll have your vehicle for about a week to test, fit and check your new setup.

In most cases, a GVM upgrade will not affect your vehicle’s warranty. It is, however, best to check with who is fitting your GVM and your vehicle’s manufacturer to ensure your warranty will remain intact.
A GVM upgrade not only increases your vehicle payload but also provides an excellent ownership experience by often vastly improving the driving dynamics of your vehicle.
Though not usually a requirement we strongly recommend a brake system upgrade due to the added load capacity of a vehicle with a GVM upgrade. Brake systems are often overlooked however they provide a huge benefit in terms of vehicle dynamics and safety. Read more about your brake upgrade packages.
We offer a range of Pre-Rego and Post-Rego Second Stage of Manufacture GVM Upgrades from industry-leading suppliers like Lovells, King Shocks, AEV, JMACX, Pedders, Ironman, Dobinsons, and Net4x4.
