Ultimate spring process

The Ultimate Leaf Spring is a fully-staged progressively laminated leaf spring. The length of each spring is proportioned to the length of the preceding leaf, improving the characteristic of the spring. SUP 9A grade spring steel is used exclusively which increases elasticity and memory as well as giving longer life and better safety.

Ultimate leaf springs are heat-treated in computer-controlled furnaces to precise temperatures. Precision is required due to the fact that high-grade steel is less tolerant to variations in temperature (during manufacturing) than commonly used lower-grade steels. The fully assembled springs are subject to a final test which involves repeated deflections under extreme pressures to ensure all leaves are seated and working as an effective unit.

Ultimate range of springs

Ultimate leaf springs are designed specifically for each vehicle. Spring are manufactured to suit different vehicle loadings and driver requirements. Springs can be cambered to accommodate different loadings on the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle. Final quality control inspectors mark the springs indicating whether the camber is at the upper or lower level of its tolerance. This allows matched sets of springs and can be fine-tuned for additional unequal vehicle loading. Spring rates are then matched with appropriate shock absorbers from the Ultimate Suspension range according to the specific vehicle application.

The ultimate fully-integrated suspension system provides a choice of coils with individually matched and tuned shock absorbers to suit each specific application.

The three basic suspension categories are standard height heavy-duty, raised height heavy-duty and raised height comfort. Different coils and spring characteristics are required for each category and can be customised to meet specific requirements.
